Tea party

Ariadne is turning 10. She is a very special girl to me. I love it when she comes and talkes to me, I love I when she takes care of Luna and Ekko and plays with Bas. We went to her Tea party. Everybody had to bring a stuffed animal and put on some fancy clothes. It was so beautiful, the cakes, the tea cups, the tea bag to take home, the game, the story, … Everybody was enjoying tea time so much, Bas was chatting around and Ekko was sitting with some girls on the table enjoying his cookie and Tea, Luna got some too and felt evry at home. When Ariadne blew out her candle she took a deep breath (as she was making her wish) and blew them out.

For her birthday I made her a dress. The fabrics I chose really fit her, I had so much fun making the dress. Bas helped with drawing a mouce, because she is so crazy about them.

Ariadne is 10. Ze is een special meisje voor mij. Ik hou ervan als ze met mij komt praten, ik vind het fijn wanneer ze voor Luna en Ekko zorgt of speelt met Bas. We gingen naar haar Thee feestje. Iedereen moest een knuffeldier meenemen en iets moois aantrekken. Het was een wondermooi feest, de cakes, the kopjes thee, de thee zakjes die ze maakte om mee naar huis te nemen, het spelletje, het verhaal, …

Iederen genoot zo erg van om een kopje thee met cake of koekje tee ten. Bas was aan het praten terwijl, Ekko zat tussen wat meisjes te genieten van zijn koekje, Luna kreeg ook wat en voelde zich heel erg thuis. Wanneer Ariadne de kaarsjes uitblies nam zee en diepe adem (alsof zee en wens deed) en blies ze uit.

Voor haar verjaardag maakte ik haar een kleedje. Ze stofjes die ik koos passen echt bij haar, ik had veel pret bij het maken, Bas hielp een muis tekenen voor erop, omdat ze zo gek is van muizen.

Stung by boonie bees

I got stung by boonie bees 20 times!!!! I was trimming some trees when I clipped of a whole bee hive by accident. They all flew to me at once (while otherwhise only a few come to warn you, when you shake the tree) and some were stuck in my T-shirt (on one breast I had 4). The once in my face blew up a lot so it seemed I bumbed into something whitout truning blue. Lucky thing I was not allergic and lucky thing the kids were ok … they were racking leaves net to me, Bas ran to my neighbor straight away because I was screaming so loud. She squeezed calamansi all over me. They say that helps a lot! And indeed it was ok, my arm swell up a bit but not too much, Tom had once one bite, and his arm was super swollen, while I had 5 on my arm and was only swollen half as much. Anyway, I’m taking it easy now and check befor I cut of a branch. The most envirmental way to get rid of them is to smoke them out and burn the nest (firemen don’t come for that in Guam).

Ik werd 20 keer door boonie bijen gestoken!!!! Ik was bomen aan het snoeien en knipte een heel nest af per ongeluk. Ze vlogen allemaal tegelijk naar me toe (terwijl anders slechts enkele je komen waarschuwen wanneer je de boom schud) en enkele zaten vast in mijn T-shirt (op 1 borst had ik er 4). Die in mijn gezicht zwelden het meeste op en het leek alsof ik een klop had gekregen zonder dat het blauw werd. Gelukkig was ik niet allergisch en de kinderen waren ok (zij waren naast me bladeren aan het rakelen). Bas ging dadelijk onze buurvrouw halen omdat ik zo hard schreeude. Zij perste vers calamansi sap over me. Ze zeggen dat dat heel goed helpt. En ik was ok inderdaad, mijn arm zwelde op maar niet zo erg. Toen Tom een beet had was zijn arm twee keer zo dik, bij was het maar een beetje. In ieder geval ik kijk nu goed voor ik knip en schud een beetje. De meest milieuvriendelijke manier om ze te verwijderen is ze uitroken en dan het nest verbranden (brandweerman komt daarvoor niet langs hier in Guam).

Fern and Ekko

Fern and Ekko are really good buddies. Ekko really likes her a lot!!!!!!!! They smile to each other, hold hands and want to sit next to each other, very sweet!

Fern en Ekko zijn echte, geode vrienden. Ekko vindt haar geweldig!!!!!! Ze lachen en houden elkaars hand vast en willen naast elkaar zitten, heel heel lief!!!!

Ziekjes

Then we all got sick … Bas was eerst ziek, dan Ekko, dan Luna, ik en Tom. It was the first time ever Ekko said he wanted to lay down in the seat. Bas does it often, and then is healthy again in like 5 hours or so. It took Ekko a day this time, but he was very strong and brave as always. Luna suffered the least (maybe because she only drank from the breast), me the most (because I had to watch my kids at the same time, so I to my pillow everywhere they went to play, in and outside, but the sweethearts were very understanding and played so nice) and Tom, well, in between. Anyway it was a viral thing but it took us a week until we were all really 100 procent again.

Dan waren we allemaal ziek … Bas was eerst, dan Ekko, Luna, ik en Tom. Het was de eerste keer ooit dat Ekko in de zetel wou liggen. Bas doet het vaak, en is meestal er boven op na 5 uur rust, Het duurde voor Ekko een dag, maar zoals steeds is hij heel dapper en flink. Luna zag het minst af (misschien door de borstvoeding, het enige wat ze at en binnenhield), ik het meeste (misschien omdat ik ook op de kindjes moest letten, dus mijn kussen verhuisde waar ze gingen spelen, ze waren wel heel life en begrepen het goed en spelen heel flink met elkaar). En Tom die sliep een dagje en was er vanaf. In ieder geval het was viral en het koste toch wel een week om er weer 100 procent bovenop te komen.

Ekko started soccer

Ekko played soccer right after Robin left for the first time, but for rain and sick reasons we haven’t gone since, but hopefully the boys can go to soccer once a week with Tom. It is 3 times, but for now that is too much for us. We enjoy walking to the beach in the afternoon so much, we still want it to be our main activity. But anyway Ekko likes it, and really does great! He looked so cute!

Ekko begon is beginnen te voetballen net na Robin vertrok, maar omdat hij ofwel ziek was ofwel omdat het regende zijn we sinds niet meer geweest. Maar hopelijk kunnen de jongens eens per week gaan trainen. Het is normal 3 keer maar dat is nu watt e veel voor ons. We genieten zo van onze wandeling naar het strand, we willen dit nog houden als hoofdactiviteit. Maar Ekko vond het wel leuk en deed het best wel goed. Hij zag er zo schattig uit!!!!!!!

The last day!

On the last day we did a treasure hunt at the beach and in the garden with some Guam tresures to take home. It was fun seeing the boys so excited about it! After we BBQed in the garden (Tom made a BBQ out of an old canopy that flew down with the wind). A wonderful evening with amazingly good friends!!!!!!! WE WILL MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

De laatste dag deden we een schattentocht aan zee en in de tuin. Zo konden ze wat Guamse schatten mee nemen. Het was fijn om de jongens zo geboeid the zien! Nadien deden we een BBQ in de tuin (Tom maakte een BBQ uit een oude canopy dat omvloog met de wind). Een fantastische avond met ongeloofelijk goed vrienden!!!!!!!!! WE ZULLEN JULLIE MISSEN!

Their beach

This is the beach Bas and Robin grew up with together. Oh I missed the days they could play together in the water, climbing trees, pretending making BBQ, chasing butterflies, making bird nests, … What a wonderful thing they can do this again now!

Dit is het strand waarRobin and Bas samen opgroeiden. Ik mis die dagen waar ze speelden in het water, in bomen klommen, deden alsof ze BBQden, vlinders achterna holden, vogelnestjes maakten, …

Fantastisch toch dat ze dit vandaag weer samen kunnen doen.

When Robin went to visit another friend one day, my kids caught up playing with each other, really funny!

Wanneer Robin op een dag een ander vriend bezocht moesten onze kindjes precies inhalen met onder elkaar te spelen, echt grappig!
