Happy valentine daddy, happy valentine my love

Bassie’s artwork: scrap wood glued together and plainted as a nameplate for his desk

Ekko’ s free spirit (that’s how Gisela called it when she saw it, I think you said that so beautiful Gisela)

Big brother Bas is helping Ekko

Bassie is talking about whatever Ekko is pointing out.

Bas vertelt over wat Ekko aanwijst.

Bassie first puts ALL his cars next to him so he would be happy and then feeds Ekko.

Family sport day at the soccer field

Bas started soccer with the Wolverines in Talofofo together with Ska. He just loves it and he does really well. First Tom would take Bas but Ekko wants to come too, so we all go. It is from 5.30 PM until 6.30 PM. They train twice a week and have a game on Saturday. The coaches are really good and they learn a lot of techniques. It is fun to see them play together. Tom and me take turns running in the neighborhood. I’m looking forward to my run every time now. Ekko and Luna play along the side with us and do some soccer or yoga with Suzanne. We are not the only parents or siblings doing side activities, it is really fun to see what is all going on around the field. But because the fields are high up a hill the wind that comes from the ocean is really strong … and don’t laugh but pretty cold!!!!! We have been dressing our kids with hats and jackets because they would sniff afterwords.

Magnetic poetry

Ik wil het fluisteren

Het taal laten zijn

dat het zweven kan

met de wind en de vogels,

Ik wil het zingen,

Het muziek laten zijn

dat een moeder, haar meisje,

aankijkt en lief heeft.

I want to whisper,

Let it be language,

So it can float,

With the wind and the birds,

I want to sing,

Let it be music

How a mother looks at her girl,

and loves her.

PDN: Pacific Daily News

We buy the newspaper, and like in the American movies they throw it under your carport. Bas first thing to do in the morning is finding the newspaper and read it. Ekko gets interested too. After reading an article about a containership that lost some of its containers with the rough winds that was around the island for weeks, he was building one. Luna was lying next to him (Ekko was napping) and enjoying rolling towards him.
