Organic garden dress to match her sling

Emily 5!

Emily is turned 5!!! Wow what a milestone. Bas drew her pictures with some flowers, I made her a turquoise and brown dress.

It was a wonderful party outside at their house. The kids played with the bikes and ran around singing. The coconuts became champagne and the candles fireworks in their imagination. It was beautiful. And Princess Emily was smiling big time!

Emily werd 5 jaar deze week. Wat een mijlpaal. Bas tekende haar met wat bloemen, I maakte haar een turquoise met bruine jurk.

Het was een prachtig feest bij hen thuis in de tuin. De kindjes speelden met de fietsen en liepen zingend rond. De kokosnoten warden champagne en de kaarsjes vuurwerk in hun verbeelding. Het was prachtig. En princes Emily lachte en lachte.

Airplanes for Ska's grandparents

Because Ska’s grandparents gave him a book about airplanes he wanted to draw some for them as a thanks you.

Omdat Ska zijn grootouders hem een boek over vliegtuigen gaven wou hij er wat tekenen als een dank je wel.

Bas saw that Emily was allowed to take pictures with the good camera … so he wanted to try. After giving instructions and telling him to hold it careful he gave it a try: mommy and Luna were his models and of course the cats and some flowers. The camera was clicking big time and I like the result.

Bas zag dat Emily mocht foto’s trekken met de geode camera … en hij wou het ook eens proberen. Na zorgvuldig alles uitgelegd te hebben en hem op het hard gedrukt te hebben dat het gevaarlijk is mocht hij proberen: mama en Luna waren zijn modellen en natuurlijk ook de kat en wat bloemen. De camers klikte er op los en ik vind het resultaat best wel mooi.

Ze vindt het ook fijn om haar beentjes te strekken wanneer ik ze optrek.

Belly time

Luna Isa is turning on her belly every time I put her down to play. She just loves to be on her belly and play games or study the little puppets.

Bas love to play with the bal with her. He did that we Ekko too.

Luna Isa draait zichzelf om zodra je ze neerlegt om te spleen. Ze vindt het te gek om op haar buik te spelen en naar de vingerpoppetjes te kijken.

Bas houdt ervan om met Luna met de bal te spelen. Deed hij ook met Ekko.

Simply foods

Every week the kids and me go shopping in the mall and go out for dinner afterwards. They love the vegetarian restaurant and the people working there. Dana says it their highlight of the day seeing our boys be so enthusiastic about receiving their vegetarian spinach lasagna. They always smile and do funny faces. When I have to take Bas to the bathroom they watch Ekko and Luna, she is most of the time asleep in my sling.

Elke week gaan ik en de kindjes winkelen in de stad en gaan erna uit eten in een vegetarisch restaurant. Ze vinden het er super lekker en zijn gek van de mensen die er opdienen. Dana zegt dat het hun hoogtepunt van de dag is om hen zo enthousiast hun vegetarische spinazie lasgane te zien opeten. Ze lachen ook altijd naar hen en trekken gekke gezichten. En wanneer Bas naar de WC moet dan letten ze op Ekko. En Luna die is meestal in mijn sling aan het slapen.

Garden Day

Quinn planted this butterfly tree 2 years ago … or should I say pulled the little stick out and put it back in. We never thought it would make, but look the magic touch of a child let it grow very big. He leaves the island now together with his mommy, daddy and little sister. Good luck to you all.

Twee jaar geleden plantte Quinn deze vlinderboom … of zal ik zeggen hij stopte het plantje in the aarde en trok het er terug uit en in. We dachten dat het het nooit zou halen, maar kijk is het niet magisch hoe de boom groeide door de hand van een kind. Hij verhuisd nu met zijn mama en papa en kleine zusje. Veel geluk.

Bas shows Emily a caterpillar on Garden Day. It is so cute how Bas and Emily interact. Emily is not to crazy about holding insects, but she is very interested. So she wants him to hold it for her. Bas knows this en with a quiet voice he tells her that it is ok to just touch the animal very gentle, that it won’t hurt her… I melt … so sweet.

Bas toont Emily een rups op Garden Day. Het is zo schattig om te zien hoe Emily en Bas omspringen met elkaar. Emily is een beetje bang van rupsen, maar toch geïnteresseerd. Ze heft graag dat Bas het vasthoudt zodat zij er kan naar kijken. En Bas weet dat en moedigt haar stilletjes aan met een zachte stem zeggend: het is ok hoor, aai het diertje maar sttilletjes. Ik smelt … zo lief.

Luna and Anna are communicating so well with each other. So sweet how they look at each other and hold hands!!!!!!!

Luna en Anna communiceren zo goed met elkaar. Zo lief hoe ze elkaar aankijken en elkaars hand vasthouden.

Stone soup at Garden Day

While the kids were digging up the sweet potato's Rhonda started preparing the soup. The harvest of the sweet potato's was not as big as last time but sure enough to make a soup together with the raw papaya that fell from our tree. The big pot was totally empty at the end.

Terwijl de kinderen zoete aardappels opgraven begint Rhonda zoete aardappelsoep te maken. De oogst van de zoete aardappels is niet zo groot als vorig jaar maar zeker en vast genoeg om een lekkere soep meet te maken samen met de rauwe papaya die van onze boom viel. De grote pot werd volledig leeg gegeten.
