Daddy Tom is gone for 16 days to follow a course about ocean acidification. He is coming home tomorrow at 10 PM. We are so excited! We can’t wait to see him, we missed him so much.
Papa Tom verliet Guam voor 16 dagen om een cursus over oceaan verzuring te volgen. Hij komt morgen om 10 uur ’s avonds thuis. We zijn zo blij! We kunnen haast niet wachten, we misten hem so fel.
Joma send us a package with a calendar and stickers. And every morning they could open a little present! Thanks, a great idea !!!!!! They had so much fun. The last present will be the biggest: their daddy!
Joma stuurde on seen packet met een kalender en stickers. En elke morgen mochten de jongens een pakje openen. Bedankt voor het leuke idee! Ze hadden zoveel plezier. Het laatste pakje zal het grootste zijn: hun papa!
I was lucky Suzanne came over to help with Ska, so bedtime preparing wasn’t to hectic. We had so much fun, doing all kinds of things around our house and in the neighborhood. We only went out to the beach a couple of times, because I wasn’t aloud into the ocean until 6 week after I gave birth. We went with Suzanne, but the waves were so big! One time Suzanne had to jump after Ekko while he was just standing in the sand. The wave came crashing on shore, I think at least 4 meters from the point it was before. Suzanne’s knees were bleeding because of the rocks, shells and corals on the beach. And one other time Bas and Ska jumped over waves but had to come out because the waves were bigger than them, I jumped in the ocean than, Luna was sleeping in the sling, only her bottom got a bit wet. So we stayed around the house for the rest of the time and playing in the tub and on the slide. Also fun!
Ik had geluk dat Suzanne en Ska veel langskwamen om te helpen, zodat bedtijd niet zo hectisch zou zijn. We hadden veel plezier, en speelden veel rond het huis en in de buurt. We gingen slechts enkele keren naar de zee, omdat ik niet in de zee mocht tot 6 weken na de bevalling. We gingen samen met Suzanne, maar de zee was zo wild, de golven zo hoog. Een keer moest Suzanne achter Ekko springen terwijl hij gewoon op het strand stond. De golf sloeg neer op het strand, ik denk wel 4 meter ver. Suzanne haar knieën bloedden door de stenen, koralen en schelpen op het strand. Een andere keer sprongen Ska en Bas over de golven tot ze hoger kwamen dan hen, deze keer sprong ik achter hen aan, Luna was in mijn sling aan het slapen, enkel haar poep was een beetje nat. Zodus bleven we thuis in de buurt en speelden in het zwembad of op de glijbaan. Ook veel pret!
Luna changed so much since Tom is gone: she is so playful, looks around and loves to be around the boys and check it out!
Luna is zoveel veranderd sinds Tom weg is: ze is speels, kijkt rond en houdt van haar broers gezelschap. Heel fijn om haar bij ons te hebben, we genieten er allemaal van!

Emily and Bas are talking and talking while driving on their bikes. They are so cute together.
Emily en Bas babbelen terwijl ze met hun fiets rijden. Ze zijn zo schattig samen.

One of joma’s packages contained ‘bollekes’, soup crackers, a Belgian thing!!!!!! We mad pumpkin soup and Bas and Ekko ate their bellies round!!! Thanks joma!
Een van de pakjes van joma bevatte ‘bollekes voor in de soep. We maakten pompoensoep en de kindjes aten hun buikje rond! Bedankt joma!
Of course Bas did a bit of art: he is so much into pirates! He has a big pirate treasure chest (he told today to a neighbor that he made it out of beer box of daddy (I forgot about that, because we covered it with paper to draw on with Ekko and him) that he fills with everything he likes!
Natuurlijk schilderde Bas een beetje: hij is gek van piraten de laatste tijd! Hij heeft een grote piraten schatkist (hij vertelde aan een buurvrouw dat hij het had gemaakt van een doos met bier van papa (ik was dat vergeten omdat we er papier hadden rond geplakt zodat Ekko wat kon tekenen met Bas) dewelke hij vult met alles wat he dierbaar is.
